He selects eggs in which miracidia develop. The latter penetrate into the body of freshwater mollusks belonging to the genus limnea, galba, planorbis, etc. Larval stages of echinostomatids can also develop in the body of tadpoles and frogs. Birds, eating mollusks, tadpoles and frogs, are infected with various kinds of echinostomatids
